- Japan Society for the Promotion of Science：Grants-in-Aid for Scientific ResearchDate (from‐to) : 2018/04 -2021/03Author : Yui ToshiyukiThrough analyses of doppelganger and copy motifs in German literature since the 19th century, this study reveals some of the historical changes in how the modern idea of originality has been perceived in relation to reproduction. In addition to highlighting the interrelationship between reproductions and originals, which are generally viewed as opposites, the study also revealed that the desire for originality is deeply related to more fundamental issues such as life and death, and memory and documentation.

- Japan Society for the Promotion of Science：Grants-in-Aid for Scientific Research Grant-in-Aid for Scientific Research (B)Date (from‐to) : 2016/04 -2019/03Author : Kawashima Takashi; JO shinichi; HIRANO yoshihiko; SUZUKI rikaIn the course of this research project, we found out that writers who lived in the complicated situation in the multiethnic and multilingual cities Prague and Dublin were often highly conscious of the role of "media" that make something unconceivable--such as ghosts and spirits--conceivable. Of particular importance was the fact that at the turn of the 19th and 20th century, occultism and spiritualism served as a model for the identity formation of those authors, since the practices of occultism and spiritualism were nothing but paradigmatic attempts to make something invisible visible.

We regard CEFR (Common European Framework of Reference for Languages) as important by this project on this occasion. Therefore, by this project, we made "the database for many-readings of German for Japanese", "German web dictionary for Japanese", "an expression dictionary of German for Japanese" and "a booklet for expression of German for Japanese". These contents were utilized in the German language training in Germany for our Japanese students during this period. Furthermore, we made the software to train the grammar of Russian. And we carried out the questionary survey about the effect of "the software to train the grammar of Russian". These contents were released in our homepage as "the general German learning environment" for Japanese. "The software to train the grammar of German" and "the software to train the grammar of Russian" are released as application.

We discovered common features and differences in the methods to 'discipline' children in Japan and abroad. We also held an international symposium in which the structure of corporal punishment in Japan, the actual condition and effort toward eradication of corporal punishment in Korea and the philosophical background denying corporal punishment in French education were discussed. Furthermore, we had some workshops for sport instruction without 'taibatsu', in which we tried practices for team building which attached a great deal of importance to verbal communications and discussed about it with participants after the practices. We now prepare to publish a book showing some of the fruits of this project and a translation book about corporal punishment in Japan.

Furthermore, the research includes data accumulation and analysis for measuring the software’s effect on learning outcomes. We created the content for the German-learning software for beginners by utilizing the concept of “multi-platform” and “serious games”. By introducing a textbook to be taught closely alongside the software, synergistic effects can be expected. We also accumulated basic data from questionnaires judging the software and textbook’s efficacy, performing content correction based on knowledge obtained from the analysis of the data.
