The site is located among hills where rice paddies and houses coexist. A shape like a water-drop fallen to the ground is incorporated into the site. The house has a hip roof, too short to cover the entire structure, and the walls extend beyond the eaves where small gardens are placed.
The roof is mildly shaped, fitting in with the scenery of the gentle mountains. One of the hip ends is cut out from the edge of the main ridge along with the corner ridges and is dropped vertically. This creates a gap between the roofs, through which one can glimpse the ceiling and the sky on the other side. The dropped roof and the zigzag walls give depth to the facade.
On the inside, the central hall is lit by natural light from above and is surrounded by eight geya spaces (attached space with a roof protruding from the exterior to the main building). The geya spaces have no fixed partitions and narrow down as they extend toward the edge of the eaves and then open up into small gardens, which connect to the scenery outside.
