___ 英語学・言語文化演習 ___主題と目的 英語学の専門知識を学び，外国語ネイティブの文化や価値観にまで根差した「国際的視野」を習得することを目指します。新しい知識を獲得・活用し，「映画」などの映像媒体でも自身で分析・活用できる「言語文化力」を磨く一方、希望者は、個人研究の成果を国際的な論文コンクールに応募することも可能です（過去に本ゼミより多数の受賞者有り）。また、国際活動特化団体ITAC とも連動し、種々の国際活動を通じて、本ゼミで得た知識・経験をさらなる実学に昇華させることができる教育環境も整備しています。さらに、UNESCO が提唱する国際理解教育の一環として異言語文化の比較・対照によるグローバル・スタディーズを、また、日本の言語文化との比較・対照を通したアイデンティティの検討・考察なども行います。そして、最終学年次には個々が関心を持つワールド・スタディーズの研究を進めます。 以上の理由から、本ゼミでは「新しい価値を創造したい」という「主体性；自主性」を持つ人材像が求められます。受け方のポイント 高等教育でゼミほど他者の意見を聞き、自己の主張を展開する貴重な機会はないと考えています。したがって、外国語母語話者の認識・文化がいかに言語に反映されているかについて、活発に意見を交換する姿勢が求められます。必然的に問題解決の論理的な提示方法も学ぶことになります。

    我が国の外国語語彙学習(特に中学校・高等学校)において、日本語訳の機械的な丸暗記に過度に重点が置かれている感は否めない。しかしながら、種々の単一語及び連語表現の意味のからくりを概念的見地から解明し、実際に教壇に立つ者がそれらを背景知識として持つことは、特に「英語表現＝日本語訳」式の機械的な丸暗記が苦手な学習者に対して自身の自然な経験の諸相に則した「理解」範疇下の語彙学習指導を可能にするだけでなく、英語そのものに対する興味づけをも行えるのではないかと考えられる(cf.上野(2007))。そこで、本論では、典型的な多義語の一つとして扱われることが多い'take'を取り上げ、そのプロトタイプ効果が生じる拡張メカニズムを認知言語学的観点と史的観点とを融合させた「メタ・プロセス理論」の観点から明らかにすることが主たる目的となる。（英文） The purpose of this paper is to deal with one of the proto-typical polysemic words 'take' from a cognitive point of view. To be specific, 'take' seems to lie heavy even on the brand-new publications. For this reason, I am going to venture to deal with the word as logically and satisfactorily as possible from a cognitive point of view. I propose that there could be no other efficient and effective way than to memorize English expressions systematically in terms of their images and categories acquired and stored in human brains. The specific examples dealt with here are 'take over', 'take up', 'take in', and so on, whose semantic changes can be viewed based on DEIXIS. This shows that we have the cognition by which we linguistically organize our external world through such a metaphorical filter as ORIENTATIONAL METAPHOR (cf. G. Lakoff and M.     本稿では「視覚」に基づいた外界認識が如何にして言語に反映されているか、という人間の認知メカニズムに光を当てる(1章)。その後、導き出された人間の視覚経験のメカニズムを基にしてcome acrossに代表される諸々の「邂逅」表現の意味のからくりを明らかにし、英語学習者の日常の知覚経験に自然な形で則した新しい語彙学習指導内容の一端を提案する(2章)。

    This is the Part 5 of the serial paper about the way to teach English words in terms of the conceptual categorization. We suggest that there can be no other efficient and effective way than to memorize English words systematically in terms of their images and categories. It is because semantic change is supposed to occur based on the images and categories acquired and stored in human brains through everyday experiences. The specific examples dealt with here are 'a white lie', 'a colorful story' and so on, which can be viewed through our visual organ. This shows that we have cognition by which we linguistically organize our external world through 'embodied concepts' terms, which are named 'idiosyncratic projective expressions' by G. Lakoff and M. Johnson (1980, 1999).

  • 2013/12 -2013/12  「ワールド・スタディーズ」国際教育プログラム 
    近畿大学法学部国際コース生を対象に，ユネスコが提唱する「国際理解教育（Education for International Understanding）」の理念を実践するための教育プログラムを西谷斉氏（近畿大学准教授、国際法学）と共に開発・実施。その学習成果を発表する場としてチーム別プレゼンテーション大会も開催（2014年12月も開催）。 欧州、英語圏、アジア、アフリカ、ラテンアメリカ、中東という6つの担当地域に分け、それぞれの地域が持つ特徴や抱える問題、各言語文化について調査・報告。また、2013年度は森山ゼミ3回生選抜チームも参加し、以下のテーマで種々の英語表現に関る研究発表を行った。 研究発表テーマ：英米文化比較における『人間と社会』－『愛』に見る言語科学 発表者：土谷英樹氏、橋口万実氏、伊藤幸平氏 早期から国際マインドを高め、自身の意見を論理的に発信する能力を育てることで、グローバル人材を育成する国際理解教育の実践に主眼が置かれている。 実施場所：近畿大学法学部国際コース http://www.kindai.ac.jp/law/new/post-31.html
