理工系学生は、将来、先端科学技術の担い手として、グローバル社会での活躍を期待されている潜在的グローバル人材といえる。本稿は、短期集中型で実施した、事前の異文化間教育及び欧米における海外研修が、理工系学生の国際力向上にどのような影響を与えたのかについて実証研究の結果を報告する。米国及び豪州夏期研修への参加者を対象に質問紙調査を実施し、回答の質的及び量的分析を行つたところ、参加学生は、事前教育や現地での異文化体験を通して自己や他者に対する認知的理解を深めたり、外国人と関わる上での自信やコミュニケニション意欲を向上させていることが明らかとなった。理工系学生を含む日本人学生の国際力向上のための教育について、可能性と課題を論じる。

The purpose of this research is to investigate the interactions among international college students in an intercultural collaborative work project. The fieldwork and repeated interviews with each participant were conducted throughout the project by the first author. Data was analyzed from two perspectives. The first perspective focuses on the relative positions of the participants in regard to the differences of power or "capital" (Bourdieu, 1991) among them. The second perspective focuses on factors that bring the participants closer including shared purposes, tasks and time together. As a result, it was revealed that they utilized various linguistic resources to understand each other while differences in capital relatively position them.

The purpose of this research is to investigate the interpersonal relationships between international students and Japanese college students in a Japanese college dormitory through interview with the international students. In order to collect data, semi-structured interviews were conducted with the international students at the third and eighth month of their stay. The international students were asked questions about their interpersonal relationships with Japanese students. To analyze the data, a framework of Grounded Theory (Kinoshita, 2007) was applied. The analysis revealed that though the international students had some expectations on building good relationships with Japanese students on the third months of their stay, they became unwilling to participate in the dorm community at the eighth month of their stay. The findings provide some implications to interpersonal relationships among students from different cultures.

2021年度もコロナ渦の影響のためオンライン授業が実施された．このため，テストシステムのアイテムバンクの更新や検証に必要なデータを恒常的に収集することが難しく，テストシステムを活用した定期試験も実施することができなかった．こうした制限を加味し，2021年度は，テストシステムの改良に注力した．具体的には，テストシステム上から自動的にオンラインテストを生成し，スマートフォン，タブレット，およびパソコンなどの多用な端末でテストが受験ができるように改良を加えた．さらに，各テスト問題のレベル判定を行い，受験者のレベルに応じたテストを生成できるように改良を加えた．今回の改良により，オンラインテストを実施できるようになり，且つ受験者のレベルに応じたテストを生成できるようになったことで，より授業で使いやすく現場のニーズに応じて柔軟に対応可能なテストシステムへと改善することができた．2022年度からは，未だ不透明な状況ではあるものの対面授業に戻った．今回のシステム改良により，対面授業にも，オンライン授業にも，また，双方を重ね合わせた授業にもテストシステムが対応することができるようになり，システムを媒介とする新しい授業形態が可能になった．本研究の成果は，国際学会，国内学会等で発表を行い，社会に還元することを図った．また，大学以外での教育機関の英語の授業でも使われるようになり，さらに実践への本研究を通じて開発されたテストシステムの活用の場を広げつつある．
