[要旨]近年，特に1990年代から安い手術代や投薬費，高度医療技術，臓器移植，整形手術，健康診断，先進国では法令上不可能な手術を受ける目的で，先進国の患者や中東諸国あるいは中国の富裕層の患者などがアジアの開発途上国を中心とするメディカルツーリズムを推進している国ヘ渡航し治療を受けるようになってきている。メディカルツーリズムで外国ヘ渡航する患者は，ガンあるいは心臓疾患といった重症疾患の場合が多いため，渡航先に長期滞在する場合が多く，また，家族を同伴するあるいは見舞客の訪問もあるため，宿泊するためのホテルや観光などの分野ヘの経済的恩恵が大きい。そこで，今回，メディカルツーリズムの海外および日本の現状を精査し，日本におけるメディカルツーリズムの可能性を検討する。[Abstract] In recent years, especially since the 1990s, patients from developed countries and the Middle East, as well as wealthy people from China, have started to travel abroad to receive medical services in developing nations in Asia and other countries that are promoting medical tourism. These medical tourists choose these countries for a variety of reasons, such as low-cost operations and medication, as well as advanced medical technologies. Medical services include organ transplants, cosmetic surgery, medical checkups, as well as surgical services that are prohibited by law in developed countries. Patients who travel abroad on medical tours often have serious illnesses, such as cancer or heart disease. Consequently, many such patients stay in their destination countries for a long period of time and are also accompanied by their families or visited by their friends, thereby bringing considerable economic benefits not only to the hotels where they stay but also to tourism and other industries. In this paper, therefore, we examine the current status of medical tourism inside and outside Japan in detail and study the potential for medical tourism in Japan.

債権リスクの指標として使用されている格付機関が付与した格付に対して、市場参加者がアクセス可能な共有情報である財務データのみを使った分析方法が見いだされて、各格付機関が付与している構造が明らかになり、安定的に格付を判断する手法を考案できれば.格付けを受けようとしている企業や投資をおこなう金融機関にとって費用対効果の観点から有用であることは容易に想像できるであろう。従来、格付の付与構造については回帰分析をはじめとする各種の多変量解析などさまざまな枠組みに基づいて行われてきている。本研究の目的は、近年予測手法として脚光を浴びてきているニューラル・ネットワークを用いて、米国および日本の格付機関の格付データを使用してその付与構造の時系列的安定性について実証分析を行う。

After the anthrax affairs in 2001, Homeland Security Act of 2002 was made to come into being on November 25, 2002. This law stipulates the establishment of Department of Homeland Security that is independent department without interference by other US Department, and that safeguard the country against over all terrorism, natural disaster and so on. Moreover, the Bioterrorism Act of 2002 (The Public Health Security and Bioterrorism Preparedness and Response Act of 2002) was become effective on December 12, 2003. As the result of this effectiveness, the registration for food facilities to FDA (US Food and Drug Administration) and Prior Notice of Imported Food Shipments to FDA were mandated. We, therefore, introduce US Bioterrorism Act and verify how we should examine a countermeasure against the bioterrorism from now on in Japan.

Corporate ratings were originally known to investors as an index for the investment of fixed income securities. Such ratings ranked the degree of market risk of corporate bonds based on the public information. This paper aims to evaluate the communicative function of rating information by using the data of companies which are assigned corporate rating. The data consist of all companies listed on the Tokyo Stock Exchange with corporate rating given by Moody's, S & P, JCR and R & I. With regarding to the methodology, we examine the above communicative function by dividing two groups: those with increasing and decreasing leverage at the moment of announcement of rating changes. As the result, the market reaction to rating changes is divergent from each rating agency.

Japan has revived as one of leading international trading countries with marvelous restructuring speed and power of her private companies while she lost in World War II. We examine how Japanese companies have advanced overseas after World War II and how they have globally managed their overseas subsidiary. On the base of the change of accounting standard policy, we also examine where Japanese companies will advance and how they plan to do for future business. Japan fully introduced the accounting for Business Combination in year 2000. At the result of the introduction, Japanese companies are validated with the world standard method, and the information on their consolidated financial statements is fairly disclosed all over the world. So, main themes of this paper are to examine the history of the overseas advancement of the Japanese companies and their change of management policy affected by the introduction of the accounting for Business Combination. In the light of M & A (Meager and Acquisition), we also examine how Japanese companies select and concentrate their management resources and disclose how they estimate corporate valuation base on the selection and concentration.

Determinant factor of corporate ratings has been analyzed by using Regression Analysis, the rate of clear classification has, however, been about 70% by financial data as quantitative data in US and Japan. An unclear part of the rating classification disappears for the investor and the reliability of corporate ratings rises if rank of ratings is found out by using the financial data. If so, it is also good news for companies to choose which rating agency is best for them. We examine a comparison study on determinant factors of corporate ratings given by Japanese Rating Agencies such as Ratings & Investment Information (R & I) and Japan Credit Rating Agency (JCR), and US Agencies such as Moody's Japan (Moody's) and Standard and Poor's (S & P). We use a hierarchical neural network analysis as new analysis method for corporate financial data.

The impact of the depreciation of Chinese Yuan (CYN) to US Dollar largely affected on Japanese companies which invested in ASEAN4 countries and it has pushed Japanese companies to move their main production sites from ASEAN4 to China. However, there are a few companies that withdrew from ASEAN4 countries completely. Many Japanese companies still have production sites in both ASEAN4 countries and China, and they flexibly control their factories in ASEAN4 and China. It will be inevitable for CYN to be appreciated. At the result of the appreciation of CYN, it becomes a fair wind to ASEAN4 countries and Japanese companies investing in ASEAN4.

The purpose of this research was to conduct positive analysis on whether a neural network can function well enough as a method of analyzing the decision structure of ranking. A neural network was used to analyze the determinants of the decision structure of ranking in Moody's Investors Service and Standard & Poor's Corp. of the United States or the ranking research institute and the rating and investment information center of Japan, aiming to elucidate the decision structure of ranking, and was also used to analyze the manufacturing industry. These analyses provided highly accurate information that was found to be much more accurate than the information obtained with the existing analysis method. However, the characteristics of this information in the finance business have not been clarified yet. I would like to continue to research financial institutions using this method in the future.
