  • 英語学習者の自律学習を促すマルチデバイス対応型デジタル教材の開発とその評価

    平成29年度は，前年度と同様に（1）大学生英語学習者向けのデジタル教科書・教材に期待される機能や操作性に関する調査，（2）ヨーロッパ言語共通参照枠（以下，CEFR）に準拠した教材および題材の検討，（3）動機づけ理論を踏まえた教材設計，（4）教材コンテンツの作成，（5）教材コンテンツのデジタル化，（6）デジタル教材の効果的な配信方法に関する基礎調査を行い，（7）前年度までに作成したデジタル教科書・教材を利用した有用性に関する調査，（8）データ分析と考察，（9）教材のアップデートを行った。（1）大学生英語学習者向けのデジタル教科書・教材に期待される機能や操作性に関する調査では，過去2年と同一の質問項目を使用して大学生を対象としたアンケート調査を行った（N=27）。（2）CEFRに準拠した教材および題材の検討，（3）動機づけ理論を踏まえた教材設計としては，CEFR関連の研究成果の他，『「デジタル教科書」の位置付けに関する検討会議 最終ま
  • 発話自動採点システムの開発と英語教育プログラムへの導入
    研究期間 : 2014年04月 -2018年03月 
    本研究の目的は、発話能力の育成に焦点を当てた英語教育プログラムにおける自動採点システム導入の可能性を検討することである。自動採点システム構築のため、これまで、平成26年度では、発話データ収集のための項目を作成し、平成27年度では、これらの項目を用いて発話データを収集し、英語教師が収集した発話データに評価を付与した。教師による評価を分析し、信頼性が低いと考えられる評価を排除し、自動採点システムが予測に利用するための信頼性の高い評価を得た。これらのデータを用いて、ある程度の予測精度で評価を算出する発話自動採点システムを構築することができた。平成28年度では、最終年度に向けて、さらなる予測精度の向上を目指し、予測に用いる発話の特徴量の検証及び予測手法の検討を再度行った。予測に用いる発話の特徴量と予測手法の組み合わせにより予測結果が異なるため、平成29年度に行う予定である、システムの評価実験に向けて、発話の

    国際社会でリーダーシップを発揮できるグローバル・リテラシー教育は3段階で行われ、第1段階では、CEFRの6レベルに対応したスピーキング能力（English Tutorial）とライティング能力 (Critical Reading and Academic Writing :CRAW)の育成を図り、第2段階ではDiscussion English Tutorial(DTE) とCross-Cultural Distance Learning(CCDL) 講座を活用した。第3段階では専門分野を英語で発表・討議する能力を養うことを目的とした。今年度は、English Tutorialでの学習成果を測定するためのコンピュータ適応型テストを完成した。発話自動採点テストでは、日本人および台湾人の英語学習者からデータを収集し、話者適応の実験を実施した。発話データの単語認識率を高めるべく、評定者にとって聞き取り可能／不可能な発話データを予測する実験を行った。発話の基礎的な特徴量をもとにサポートベクターマシーンを用いた分類を行い、84%の精度で予測できた。このフィルタを通過した発話を用いて自動採点を試みたところ、判定の

    本研究の目的は、スマートフォンやパソコンで使用されるようになってきている音声認識技術を利用し、英語学習者のスピーキング能力を自動的に採点するシステムを開発することである。本研究では、設定された状況において適切な発話が求められる課題を用いて英語学習者のスピーキング能力の自動採点を試みた。音声認識技術は外国語の音声の認識において話されている状況や内容によって精度がかなり下がる。本研究で作成した課題のうち、認識の精度が高い課題においては、自動採点システムが算出するスコアは、実際に運用できる精度のものが得られた。

    ICT活用授業では、英語を共通言語(ELF)として用いる学習形態が可能である。日本とは時差の少ないアジア地域との遠隔授業であるが、従来の英語学習方法と比べ、学生の学習動機、異文化対応能力を格段に増強することが確認できた。学生の自律性を計測できる学習動機尺度と異文化間ソーシャル・スキル測定尺度を考案し、尺度の信頼性と妥当性を確認し、コミュニケーション能力を自動判定できるシステムを構築し、実験的な証拠を得た。
