[Refereed] This paper discusses ideas on how to enhance the relationship of mutual trust and friendship between different countries having serious conflicts of interest by means of analysis of the following five key concepts: “Cultural understanding”, “Foreign language education”, “Creative problem-solving skills”, “Global human resources”, and “Philosophy of co-existence and co-prosperity”. Each concept is first analyzed individually, and then the interaction between the concepts is addressed. It is concluded that in the real world of complex problems such as economic instability, aging society and fall of birthrate, regional renaissance, environmental problems etc. we might need to reshape our attitude towards ideals. In order to address the problems of the world in all their complexity, ideals might be difficult to achieve. Having global problem-solving skills means having a deep understanding of the problems, without necessarily feelings being fully shared between the communicating parties. Hence sometimes by global problem-solving skills we may also mean being able to leave the ideals and finding strength to coexist without empathy but with understanding. Furthermore,
